We now want to double down on that by appointing a Head of Advertising.
THE ROLE
We are on the lookout for a Head of Advertising, a role that is pivotal in shaping and expanding our Advertising & Media department and building it as a business within a business.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary, capable of crafting and executing a strategic plan for the department, creating an industry-beating range of services tailored specifically to Amazon Advertising & Media and an ‘envy of the industry’ list of clients we provide those services for.
This individual will have the entrepreneurial drive to lead and expand our presence in the Amazon Advertising & Media space, actively targeting mature brands that we can help trade better, harder and smarter on Amazon.
The role demands a unique blend of skills, including strategic leadership, business development, operational management, and team leadership. Think of this role as the MD of Venture Forge’s Advertising & Media division.
Reporting jointly to the COO and CEO, the Head of Advertising will build and nurture a strong network within the industry, positioning themselves and Venture Forge as thought leaders. Internally, they will focus on leading a dedicated team, ensuring operational excellence, and aligning departmental goals with the wider objectives of Venture Forge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership and Department Building:
- Create and implement the vision for the Advertising & Media Department.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive range of departmental services, including (but not limited to) advertising account growth, client maturity, operational support and training, analytics and data services, Amazon DSP and AMC.
Business Development and Network Building:
- Actively pursue and secure new business opportunities, focusing on mature Amazon brands.
- Establish and nurture relationships with potential clients, particularly those not yet maximising their potential on Amazon, or via Amazon Advertising & Media.
- Represent Venture Forge as a thought leader in the industry, contributing to discussions, events and publications relevant to Amazon Advertising & Media.
Operational Management:
- Ensure the department's smooth running, maintaining high service delivery standards.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to align departmental goals with the broader objectives of Venture Forge.
- Develop and refine operational processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Identify best-in-class tools and solutions to further operational excellence.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Line management and development of the internal advertising team.
- Build, mentor, and lead a team to execute the department's strategic vision.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Performance Measurement:
- Set and monitor key performance indicators for the department, aligning them with the company’s growth objectives.
- Regularly reporting on departmental performance to the COO and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an Amazon, media or advertising agency or Amazon directly.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and growing business services, particularly related to Amazon Advertising & Media.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledgeable in Amazon marketplace dynamics, with a particular focus on Amazon Advertising & Media.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
